What is Chungi in Multan?

Chungi reffers to Mahsul Chungi which is now moder Toll Plaza. These Chungi were to collect the tax from the trades having Multan city with others. Those days these Chungi were made on the roads which were leaving out of the city but now with the expansion of the city all Chungi came inside the city and even Chungi No 9 is said to be the hot spot and center of city.

Chungi No 9 near to fort Kohna a busy traffic place with 5 legs and commercial
Chungi No 6 Gulgasht near to Govt Emerson College Multan, famous commercial and eating place
Chungi No 8 less commercial but very famous landmark
Chungi No 7 another famous landmark
Chungi No 1 not well developed but a famous land mark
Chungi No 22 less developed but a famous land mark
Chuungi No 14 very near to old walled city and Khuni Burj

Chungi No 9 Flyover Multan

Chungi No 9 is the most busy chowk in Multan and a flyover was badly needed here for last 20 years. It was started being constructed in year 2010 and inaugurated by PM on 06-07-2011. It is an C-Shaped flyover.
Started as part of Multan Inner Ring Road Project.
