Multan Food Authority

A comprehensive mechanism has been evolved to ensure the provision of daily-use items to the general public at reasonable rates.

This was stated by Punjab Food Minister and Chairman Price Control Cabinet Committee Bilal Yasin, Agriculture Minister Dr Faruukh Javed and the Minister for Industries while addressing a press conference on Monday. The food minister said as a result of timely action taken by the government, there had been a marked reduction in prices of daily-use items, up to 40 percent. He said the government had introduced toll-free number 080002345 for consumers to lodge their complaints promptly.

He said that Food Authority would also be established in Multan, Faisalabad and Gujranwala very soon. He said that a wide ranging project of kitchen gardening had been introduced to overcome shortage of vegetables and short and long-term projects were being introduced by the Agriculture Department to meet shortage of pulses and other food items.
