Black Day in Multan to Condemn Dictator (NEWS)

MULTAN - The activists of PML-N marked Oct 12 as black day to condemn Musharraf coup in 1999. The district and city chapters of the PML-N, labour wing, women wing and human rights wing held separate rallies and demonstrations in different areas of the city on the occasion. Holding banners, placards and black flags, the N-League workers shouted slogans against former president Musharraf and declared him a traitor. They burnt the effigies of Musharraf and carried out mock hanging of his effigies.Speaking on the occasion, PML-N District General Secretary MNA Rana Mahmoodul Hassan, Sheikh Athar Mumtaz, Rana Shahid-ul-Hassan,Aapa Nasreen,Afsheen Butt, Shahid Mukhtar Lodhi, Quraban Fatima, Sultana Shaheen, Hamza Shahid Lodhi, Begum Sarwat Khan and others said that Musharraf's coup pushed the country 100 years back. They added that Musharraf committed treason by toppling a democratically elected government and therefore he should be hanged. Holding Musharraf responsible for the crises being faced by the country, they declared that only Mian Nawaz could steer the country out of this critical situation.
