There is Shrine of Shah Ali Akbar and his mother. Very little has been recorded about the biography of this saint except that he was 8th in line as a descendant of Hazrat Shamsuddin Sabzwari and that his disciples and descendants inhabited the village of Suraj Miani. This village became quite famous during Durrani period when there was a brisk trade between this village and Kabul. So much so that the houses of this village were built in imitation of houses of Kabul in Afghanistan and on this account it was often referred to as a ‘mohalla of Kabul (Gazetteer 1926, 291). A local historian, on the other hand, has recorded that the name Sura Miani – later Suraj Miani, was derived from Al-Mansura, the name of an Arab Cantonment during Abbasi period (Wasti, 111-112). There were a number of palaces and gardens in the vicinity.
