Tomb or Shrine of Shah Ali Akbar is located in Suraj Miani in a graveyard in Multan made in 1585 AD. A road from popular MDA Chowk leads to Suraj Miani area where a graveyard (not on main road) has this old historic Shrine along with Shrine of his mother. Very little has been recorded about the biography of this saint except that he was 8th in line as a descendant of Hazrat Shamsuddin Sabzwari and that his disciples and descendants inhabited the village of Suraj Miani. It is also called Sakhi Sarwar.

The Tomb of Ali Akbar is a smaller version of the tomb of Rukn i Alam. It shares with the Rukn i Alam an octagonal plan, three stores and tapering angle buttresses crowned by turrets. Its walls are also decorated with brick designs and tile work. The openings are provided with grilles – some of the openings in the second storey have lost their wooden grilles and are now blocked with brick work. The walls have horizontal wooden beam courses. In faience embellishment and tile inscription this tomb is richer than the tomb of Rukne Alam. Internally, there are original specimens of naqashi though all in very precarious position – some of the rarest examples are arabesque designs in relief which can be seen in the interior walls. The floor of the tomb is laid in bricks on edge. But in the entrance large square tiles with glazed designs have been laid. The platform, on which rests the building, has been plastered with cement. In close vicinity are the Mosque of Ali Akbar and the Tomb of his mother. The latter is in more precarious condition.
