Referring to health projects, he revealed that Rs266 million was released for the purchase of equipment for kidney centre Multan and the tenders would be publicised very soon. He directed the administration of Multan Institute of Cardiology to change its terms of reference for attracting companies to supply machinery. He also issued order for establishment of electric sub-station in Mian Shahbaz Sharif General Hospital.
He ordered the buildings department to ensure quick completion of construction of residence of judges in judicial complexes in Jalalpur Pirwala and Shujabad.

Safari Park Multan Approved PC-1









The PC-1 of proposed Safari Park Multan has finally been okayed by the Punjab Government and work will begin on the project very soon. This was disclosed by Punjab Planning and Development Board Chairman Irfan Elahi while chairing a meeting to review development projects of Multan division here.
He revealed that over Rs4.5 billion funds had been allocated for the development projects of Multan Division under Annual Development Programme (ADP) and out of this amount a chunk of Rs2.80 billion had been released. He said that Rs1.16 billion would be spent on construction of DHQ Hospital Multan and the project would be launched soon. He said that the Chief Minister had taken serious notice of delay in completion of different construction projects of colleges in Multan and issued direction to the authorities concerned to accomplish the projects before June 2014. He asked authorities concerned to ensure completion of education projects in Burewala, Vehari, Dunyapur and Lodhran before June 30. He also took serious notice of delay in construction of sports complex at BZ University and campus of Women University and said that some elements created hurdles in release of funds because of their ignorance.

Clean Multan by Solid Waste Management

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that after the success of the ‘modern system of cleanliness’ in Lahore, the solid waste management in the provincial metropolis would be introduced in Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Rawalpindi.

 He was speaking to a delegation led by Al-Bayrak Group of companies’ board of directors chairman Ahmat Al-Bayrak on Wednesday.

Multan gonna Celebrate Earth Hour City Challenge



WWF-Pakistan signed a declaration of Earth Hour City Challenge 2014 with Syeda Kulsome Hai, ADC Sheikhupura and Cap Aamir Raza, CEO Pebbles, at E-community, Sheikhupura.

WWF-Pakistan has launched Earth Hour City Challenge to promote energy conservation in smaller cities of Punjab.
Speaking at the ceremony, Kulsome highlighted the need to educate marginalised segments of our society and to give them opportunity to be part of such a global initiative.
Capt Aamir Raza, CEO Pebbles, said that his organization is trying to uplift the environmental conditions of Sheikhupura by inculcating civic responsibilities among the residents.
Anwer Naseem, Senior Director, Corporate Relations and Operations, WWF-Pakistan and Sania Khan, Manager, Corporate Relations, WWF-Pakistan, were also present at the ceremony. The participants also signed pledge boards to commit to the cause.
WWF-Pakistan has been celebrating Earth Hour since 2010. Every year renowned celebrities join the cause as brand ambassadors to become a part of the Earth Hour campaign. This year Faryal Gohar, Sarmad Khosat, Ahsan Khan, Humaima Malik and Zoe Viccaji has been chosen as Earth Hour ambassadors of WWF-Pakistan. The theme selected by WWF-Pakistan this year is energy conservation.
In addition to all activities that have been taking place since the last four years, WWF-Pakistan has added quite a few new activities including Earth Hour City Challenge 2014, University Challenge and Digital Challenge. This year Earth Hour will be celebrated on 29 March, 2014, across the globe between 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm to show support for energy conservation for sustainable future.
WWF-Pakistan will be conducting events in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. Many districts in Punjab will also take part in Earth Hour City Challenge 2014, celebrating Earth Hour candle light ceremony conducted by city district government. These include Multan, Muzaffargarh, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, Okara, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Faisalabad.

Dubai-based low-cost carrier flydubai on Monday started offering special fares inclusive of tourist visa who want to bring their families and friends here. Started today, the visa-inclusive fares have been offered for passengers coming from certain destinations in India, Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, Sudan and Yemen.
The airline will charge Dh1,180 from Karachi, Dh1,200 from Alexandria, Dh1,230 from Amman, Dh1,340 from Sialkot, Dh1,360 from Beirut, Dh1,370 from Sana'a, Dh1,390 from Khartoum, Dh1,450 from Multan, Dh1,490 from Ahmedabad, Dh1,520 for Colombo, Dh1,550 for Lucknow and Dh1,670 for Hyderabad.
The above-mentioned fares include all taxes, 30-day tourist visa and 20kg checked baggage.
The airline said special return fares must be booked by March 12, 2014, and the travel validity for economy class is between March 9, and June 10, 2014.
Those who wish to extend their visas for another 30 days will have to pay additional fee. A call center official told Emirates 24l7 that the visitor will have to personally apply for visa extension with the Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department.
Other requirements to avail the offer are minimum salary should be Dh5,000, refundable deposit of Dh2,500 per person, submitting application for visa 10 days before the desired travel date, ticket must be issued within 5 days of booking created, visa-processing time is 4-5 days, passport copies of the passengers and the UAE residents, traveler's 2 photos and NOC letter from office stating salary, the official said.
The carrier operates from Dubai's Terminal 2 but will operate from Al Maktoum International (DWC) airport between May 1 and July 20, 2014 due to the runway maintenance of the Dubai International Airport.
