MULTAN - Work has begun on construction of Cotton Ginning Research
and Training Institute in Multan with an aim to improve quality of lint
to attract foreign exchange through exports. Deputy Secretary Ministry
of Textile Industry Sikandar Masud inspected the site here Friday. He
said the boundary wall was under construction and the project would soon
be completed and made operational, says an official release. The land
was allocated for the ginning institute by Pakistan Central Cotton
Committee (PCCC). Sikandar said the research institute would help
ginners improve technology and machinery besides training of their
technical staff.
The institute would also generate employment opportunities for locals.
Director, Central Cotton Research Institute (CCRI) Multan Syed Sajid Masud Shah, agriculture scientists Dr Dil Bagh Muhammad and Zahid Iqbal Anjum were also present
