Countrywide plantation campaign launched by the students and employees of the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) continued for the second day on Friday laying special focus on development of pollution-free environment and expanding greenbelts particularly in cities.
The major plantation events took place in Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Bahawalpur, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta, Muzaffarabad, Skardu and Gilgit-Biltistan. The campaign involved thousands of AIOU’s students who planted saplings of fruits and flowers, along main roads of cities and around university’s campuses.
