Pakistan Railways Initiate Touriism in Multan




Taking another prominent development step Pakistan Railways, The related ministry has decided initiation of five special trains’ project for restoration of tourism in Pakistan.
The Pakistan’s Ministry of Railways finalised to run five special trains covering 10 major tourism places in three provinces including Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), sources said.
The tourism trains would be administered by the Pakistan Railways with collaboration of cultural departments of the provinces, sources sadded.
It should be mentioned here that the railways’ authorities selected spots include Taxila, Attock Khurd, Kheura, Changa Manga, Multan, Bhawalpur, Badin, Thattha and Moin jo Daro.

Prominent tourism spots of the Balochistan province has been excluded from the shortlisted areas’ list due to uncertain security situations.
Moreover, the higher authorities also recommended usage of ‘steam locomotives’ for short routes while ‘diesel locomotives’ for long tourism travelling.
According to independent statistics, the Pakistan’s people and landscapes attracted 1 million tourists in 2012 with its diverse culture.
