Multan—First business centre, to promote handicrafts of local artisans, under the auspices of Handicrafts Association of Pakistan (HAP) was inaugurated at Gulgasht here. MNA Shaheen Shafique was the chief guest on launching ceremony of the business centre.
HAP chairperson and former MNA Shereen Arshad talking to APP said that the business centre would offer direct market linkages to local artisan women, adding that it would provide permanent facility to the artisans to sale their hand-made items in the centre. About Handicrafts Association of Pakistan, she said that it was offering facilities to the skilled women including modern training programmes, adding that the basic purpose of the HAP was to empower women.—APP
