Unique car rally to culminate at Peshawar will pass from Multan


The Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in collaboration with the Vintage and Classic Car Club and Classic Land Rover Peshawar is organising a unique car rally show from Karachi to Peshawar.

The rally began on November 1 from Karachi and will end in Peshawar on the November 10 after passing through Sukkur, Bahawalpur, Multan, Lahore, Islamabad, Murree, Nathiagali, Abbottabad and Peshawar. The organisers said the main objective of the rally is to provide a common platform for classic car enthusiasts in Pakistan for the pursuit of their passion.

The rally includes 12 cars from Karachi in which one can find a 1957 Willys Jeep, a 1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe, a 1965 Ford Mustang, a 1961 MGA and a 1965 Peugeot 404, while almost 15 vintage cars that belong to old families in Peshawar will also be showcased on November 10 at the Peshawar Services Club from 11:00 am to 3:00pm.

The organisers said the such events are held to show to the world that Pakistan, especially Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is safe for travel. One car owner Humayun Zia has come all the way from Canada to participate in the rally along with his family. He said that such rallies helped project a stronger image of Pakistan. The Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will host lunch for the participants on November 10 at the Peshawar Services Club.
