CTH to be built: cotton commissioner
MULTAN: A Cotton Trading House (CTH) would be set up and paper work was in progress to prepare the project, Cotton Commissioner Khalid Abdullah said. The project is expected to be initiated after the completion of a modern and state-of-the-art cotton ginning institute in the city, he said at a ceremony. Land has been spotted near cotton research station on old Shujabad Road to set up the cotton ginning institute. Growers would be provided space to keep their cotton samples at the CTH and it would be equipped with all facilities relating to cotton trade. He said before buying textile products buyers from international markets wanted to see which quality of lint was utilised, what pesticides were applied or whether child labour was involved in product preparation. We should adopt the internationally recognised standards if we wanted to move with the rest of the world, he said. app
