DHA Multan Project is Now Underway

DHA Multan Project is Now Underway
Pakistan’s largest military housing authority, Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Lahore, has started purchasing land for its latest housing project in Multan. After the immense success of DHA in Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi, the administration decided to move into the southern region of Punjab, in the City of Saints, Multan.
The DHA Multan chapter office was established a couple of months back at Multan Public School Road opposite to Wapda Town Multan. The location of the mega masterplanned and commercial development is near Mauza Sangi, Mauza Kotla Sadaat and will be in close proximity to Bahauddin Zakariya University, Bosan Road and Mattital Road.

Phase 1 of DHA Multan will be launched in the first quarter of 2015 and will offer quality housing projects to residents of South Punjab. This Phase 1 will sprawl over 2,500 acres of land and cover residential as well as commercial plots. These plots will come in a range of different sizes: 5 Marlas, 10 Marlas, 1 Kanal and 2 Kanals.

The Phase-1 of DHA Multan will be launched in first quarter of 2015 which will offer quality housing facilities to the residents of South Punjab. This was disclosed by Project Director of DHA Multan Brig (r) Hammad Aziz Khan while addressing the members of Multan Chamber and businessmen here the other day.
He added that the Phase-1 spread over 2,500 acres and residential as well as commercial plots measuring two and one kanals, 10 marla and five marlas would be available in this phase. He said that special schemes for low-income groups of society would also be introduced in this phase to facilitate all sections of society.
He said that the DHA Multan would be the first residential scheme of South Punjab region with facilities like underground electricity, an 18 hole golf course, foolproof security, sewage treatment plant, commercial centres, five star hotels, medical and engineering colleges, university and education city.

Moreover, it will also have special schemes for low income groups to facilitate all the different classes of society. In addition, according to the Project Director of DHA Multan, it will  be the first housing scheme of southern Punjab with facilities like underground electricity, 18 hole golf course, commercial centers, sports complexes and lots more.
The goals and objectives of this society are not only to develop urban communities with modern living standards, but facilitate people with civic facilities such as health, education and so on, this will also to give a boost to the local economy of Multan.
DHA Multan is expected to generate economic activity over Rs.80 billion in South Punjab and will generate thousands of technical and non-technical jobs for the locals. Multan Metro Bus Project Not Cancelled

District Coordination Officer (DCO) Zahid Saleem Gondal has said that the Metro Bus project has not been suspended as the Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has been conveyed the reservations expressed by the citizens on it and he has decided to visit Multan to directly interact with the citizens and announce a new date for project’s inauguration.
Talking to a delegation of journalists here on Monday, he added that if the Metro Bus project was cancelled, the CM would announce even bigger project for Multan in view of aspirations of the masses. Answering a question, he said that many proposals were under consideration for resuming power generation from Piran Ghaib plant. He added that the proposals would be forwarded to the CM to get the residents of Multan rid of loadshedding.
He disclosed that Multan got 15 big projects under Chief Minister Punjab Package and these projects cost about one billion rupees. He added that Shujabad-Multan Expressway project was one of them while work on some historic buildings in walled city was also underway to revive their historic glory. He told the journalists that a project to allot flats to the residents of 700 dangerous buildings in walled city was also under consideration and its approval would be sought from the Chief Minister. He added that the renovation and beautification of shrines of Shah Rukan-e-Alam and Bahauddin Zakariya was also underway with the collaboration of Auqaf Department.

Eleven New Flyovers Expected for Multan Metro Bus Service

11 Flyovers to be construct on 37 KM long Multan metro bus route. Total length of these flyovers is 15 KM. Detail is as belows:
Northern bypass chowk flyover = 0.8 KM
Chungi no. 6 flyover = 0.8 KM
Chungi no. 9 (towards Humayun road) = 0.6 KM
Chungi no. 9 (towards chungi no. 8 & Kalma Chowk) = 2.7 KM
Double phatak Chowk flyover (towards vehari road) = 1.5 KM
Double Phatak Chowk flyover (Towards Nag Shah Chowk) = 1.0 KM
Chowk Shah Abbas flyover = 0.6 KM
Fish Market (Dolat Gate) = 1.1 KM
Chungi no. 14 (Hafiz Jamal Road) = 2.3 KM
BCG Chowk flyover = 1.6 KM
Vehari Chowk flyover = 1.9 KM

Priority Corridor 1: It starts from Bahauddin Zakaria University and terminates at Kumharan Chowk passing through the major intersections of Northern Bypass, Chungi No. 6, Chungi No. 9, Fish Market, Daulat Gate, Chungi No. 14, BCG Chowk and Vehari Chowk. The approximate length is 18.5km with 20 stations.

Priority Corridor 2: It starts from BCG Chowk and terminates at Chungi No, 9 passing through Shahbaz Chowk, Chowk Gala Godaam, Double Phattak, SP Chowk, MBQ Chowk, Kalma Chowk, Katchery Chowk, and Chungi No. 8. The approximate length is 10.8km with 10 stations.

Priority Corridor 2 (Extension): It starts from Double Phattak and terminates at Nagshah with Askari Chowk in between. It has a length of approximately 7.5km with 7 stations.

Some of the details, giving idea where stations will be and how the route will be elevated or on ground:

Package 6 is elevated Vehari road to BCG Chowk routry 0.5Km, at grade from BCG Chowk to Shah Abbas Chowk 1.6Km, Flyover at Shah Abbass Chowk 0.8km, at grade section from Shah Abbass Chowk to Double Phattak 1.2km and 3 at grade stations.

Package 7 is at grade Shah Abbas Chowk to Double Phattak 1km, elevated Double Phattak to Hotel Al-Aziz 1.4km, at grade Hotel Al-Aziz to Muhammad Bin Qasim Chowk 1.5km, with 3 at-grade and 1 elevated station.

Package 9 is Nagg Shah to Double Phattak. Length 6.57 km with 6 at grade stations.

Economic benefits calculated at Rs 11,497 million in the first year, with an EIRR of 20.54%. Passengers per day 148,666 with 66 buses

Funds approved for construction of the Multan metro project



LAHORE: The Punjab government has approved funds for construction of the Multan metro project.
The approval was granted in a recent meeting at  Planning and Development Department, a senior official of P&D told APP here on Sunday. Presenting details, he said Multan Metro Project

Corridor-I included: BZU to Kumharan Chowk passing through the Major Intersections of Northern Bypass, Chungi No.6, Chungi No.9, Fish Market, Daulat Gate, Chungi No.14, BCG Chowk and Vehari Chowk, Approximate length=18 km.


Package 1: Bahauddin Zakaria University to Chungi No.6, length= 5.625 km) at a cost of Rs 4097.19 million.

Package 2: Chungi No.6 to Fish Market, length=3.273 km at a cost of Rs 3905.60 million,

Package 3:Fish Market to Chungi No.14, length=1.171 km at a cost of Rs. 2801.95 million,


Package 4: Chungi No.14 to BCG Chowk and Segment of Vehari Road, length=2.331 km at a cost of Rs. 3564.78 million.

Package 5: BCG Chowk to Chowk Kumharan, length=5.582 km at a cost of Rs. 3773.94 million

Package 6: BCG Chowk to Double Phatak, length=4.10 km at a cost of Rs. 4044.23 million.

Package 7: Shah Abbass Chowk to Muhammad Bin Qasim Chowk, length=3.9 km at the cost of Rs. 3609.82 million.

Package 8: Muhammad Bin Qasim Chowk to Chungi No.9, length=2.823 km) at a cost of Rs. 4553.95 million.


Construction of Multan Metro Project Corridor-2: (Extension): It starts from Double Phattak and terminates at Nagshah with Askari Chowk in between. Approximate length=7.57 km

Package 9: Nag Shah to Double Phattak, length=7.578 km at a cost of Rs. 4344.73 million.



Construction of Multan Metro Project, Supply, Installation, Testing, Commissioning, Operation & Maintenance of Escalator & Elevators at the cost of Rs. 3205.01 million, Construction of Multan Metro Project, Supply, Installation, Testing, Commissioning, Operation & Maintenance of Solar Street Lights, Generators and Platform Screen Door (PSD) at a cost of Rs. 3035.88 million has also been approved, he said.

Routes Finalled for Multan Metro

 This route has been modified now.

 


Multan will have largest metro of Pakistan

Metro Bus Multan will be consist of 3 selected corridor. The total length of metro bus route will be 37 kilometers. It will comprises of elevated section, flyovers, and under passes.
Inauguration of work will be on 14/8/2014 (second week of month of August). It will be completed in 12 month of time span. It is expected that metro bus service will be launched on August 14, 2015 by Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif. (Insha Allah).
