Multan was Center of Budhism.
In 248 BC Ashok became the king of India (including Multan) and he started preaching Budhism.
He sent preachers to Parts of India and Kabul, Bulkh Bukhara, Kharasan,
One such team came to Multan and they took rest under the tree of Bohar (a famous tree in Multan) and they made a Budh Temple.
In 712 AD Muhammad Bin Qasim invaded Multan. Multan was populated by Budish people at that time.
