Kalma Chowk or Pul Moj Darya Chowk Multan

It is five leg intersection of LMQ Road, Khanewal Road, MDA Road, Old Bahawalpur Road, Bagh Langay Khan Road. It was called Pull Moj Darya (River tide bridge) on the name of a Sufi of Multan. Previously it was changed to Kalma Chowk as part of Lahoralization of Multan, a Kalma monument was made here which was no way comparison to Lahore's Kalma Chowk. However with construction of a flyover here, monument was to be removed 2011. So know again it is changed to Pul Mauj Darya Chowk and flyover.

Climate of Multan


Climate of Multan is very hot. A tourist coming from cold areas should take a lot of liquid and salts when come to Multan because most of it is lost in sweats. Local people soon become acclimatized whenever summer comes. March to October is regared as Summer in Multan. Local people call Multan has two weathers Hot weather and Good weather. 130mm rainfall is average mosstly in moonsoon. and temperature may go upto 55degrees sometimes. Windstorm come frequently in summer but usually are not harmful. They decrease the temperature suddenly. Rainy days are enjoyed and regarded as best days whole year. Foggy nights and mornings are common during December and January.

    Multan City Monorail Transit System

    MULTAN, Jan 29 (APP) - A proposal of Multani mono rail system to operate on a strong metallic beam over 18 feet above the city roads for city transportation was presented at a high level briefing chaired by Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani here late on Saturday night.

    Commissioner Multan division Syed Mohammad Ali Gardezi presented the novel idea of mono train operating over head on five routes with four railway stations to facilitate the citizens at the briefing held at the local circuit house.The prime minister ordered that the proposed project be referred to ministry of economic affairs adding that state minister for economic affairs Ms Hina Rabbani Khar should look into the possibility of the project’s execution on Built-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis.
    Commissioner said that the train would operate on five routes including





    1. Blue Line : Bosan Road, from Chungi # 9 to Zakariya University.
    2. Yellow Line : Northern Bypass, from Bosan Raod Junction to Judicial Complex.
    3. Red Line : From Jinnah Park to Vehari Chowk.
    4. Green Line : From Chungi # 9 to Jinnah Chowk.
    5. Brown Line : Vehari Road, from Chowk Aziz Hotel to Vehari Chowk


    He pleaded that 72 educational institutions operating on the Bosan road and additional transportation facility to the citizen would help lessen traffic burden on the road. For more information visit.
