The Punjab government has decided to privatise the Rest Houses of the Punjab Irrigation Department (PID), many of them illegally occupied by the police, army and judicial officers, The Nation has learnt.
Some of the rest houses have been possessed by officers of these departments in personal capacity and the PID had to suffer millions of rupees deficit
Punjab Police has occupied Lyallpur Rest House Multan since 1989
